Unfortunately, the set_in_cr4 and clear_in_cr4 helpers also poke at the boot code, which only a small subset of users actually wanted. This patch replaces all cr4 access in functions that don't leave cr4 exactly the way they found it with new helpers cr4_set_bits, cr4_clear_bits, and cr4_set_bits_and_update_boot. CR4 reads take several cycles, so store a shadow copy of CR4 in a per-cpu variable. To avoid wasting a cache line, I added the CR4 shadow to cpu_tlbstate, which is already touched in switch_mm. Some other contexts might require to execute these functions, but no other task in the system has enough stack. The suggested solution is to create an alternative TPM task execution path, where the command comes not from the communications interface (SPI or I2C), but from another task in the system. An interface function is created to allow a single task to pass the command to the TPM task. The task requesting the alternative execution path creates the command context, sends an event to the TPM task to alert it to the presence of the command and then polls the flag indicating that the TPM task has completed execution of the command. That commit changed the probing of aux_devs before checking new DAI links, so cht_max98090_headset_init is now called before cht_codec_init. The kernel crashes due a NULL pointer dereference in cht_max98090_headset_init since there is a call that tries to access the jack pointer which has not been allocated yet.
