In the absence of such offsets, the tlv data will have to be decoded using hardwired offset numbers 0-N depending on the type of TLV. This patch defines accessor offsets for the type, length, min and mute/step items in TLV data for DB_SCALE type tlv's. These will be used by drivers to decode the TLV data while loading topology thereby improving code readability. The type and len offsets are common for all TLV types. The min and step/mute offsets are specific to DB_SCALE tlv type. The fix is to allocate a small size dma memory. In the loop, driver copies the data to the allocated dma memory and writes to the destination until all the data is written. This isn't stable i.e. if that value is cached and someone plugs in another block device, that name might be taken in the meantime. Other code (downloading images, and making them noninteractive) took this value directly to write to the usb-device, potentially failing. However, in the lab, probing the host dev file is used to determine if a usb stick is attached or not. This is causing failures by reporting that the usb stick is not attached, simply because it is not facing the servo/host. This might have been 'hidden' by the fact that all 3 servo devices deal with the usb-mux differently on initializatoin: - v2 does not initialize it (probably defaults to servo) - v3 initializes it towards the servo, powers it on - v4 initializes it towards the dut, powers it on Another change explores unifying that behavior. This change aims to solve this by assuming that whenever the user - wants to see the device file - wants to download an image (using device file interface) - wants to make that image non-interactive (using device file interface) they want the usb-mux to - face the servo - be powered on BUG=chromium:895705 TEST=manual testing on servo-v4 dut-control image_usbkey_mux > dut_sees_usbkey dut-control image_usbkey_dev > /dev/sdb dut-control image_usbkey_mux > servo_sees_usbkey Change-Id: I70d1277412c55964e38effd695c623ff2516531a Signed-off-by: Ruben Rodriguez Buchillon <coconutruben@chromium.org> Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/1282548 Commit-Ready: ChromeOS CL Exonerator Bot <chromiumos-cl-exonerator@appspot.gserviceaccount.com> Reviewed-by: Matthew Blecker <matthewb@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Todd Broch <tbroch@chromium.org> " fail_count="1" gerrit_number="1282548" owner_email="coconutruben@chromium.org" pass_count="0" patch_number="2" project="chromiumos/third_party/hdctools" project_url="https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/chromiumos/third_party/hdctools" ref="refs/changes/48/1282548/2" remote="cros" total_fail_count="1"/><pending_commit branch="master" change_id="Iff226f8d45f6a6590d066f66bd8519ad07a751f5" commit="4c351419d0b68a8a514258632956767906a05b31" commit_message="tast: Add "camera_720p" software dependency. It also adds a unit-test to ensure this does not regress. Background: 'stale entries' are found by trying to bind a socket to the alleged port on localhost. If this succeeds, then the entry is considered stale, because if there was an active servod instance, it would have claimed the port. However, the sanitization logic did not destroy the test-socket before moving onto the next instance. This means all subsequent checks will appear to have something attached to the socket - the first test socket. This gets fixed by - creating a new test socket for each potential entry - closing them all individually This ensures prompt release of resources, and successful detection of multiple stale entries.
