Rework the Makefile to default to MrChromebox's coreboot_fb branch, but also allow for aribitrary commits from upstream Tianocore to be used as build targets. Ensure the branch is synced on each build, as long as working directory is clean, and that switching between commits or trees is handled sanely. Eliminate TIANOCORE_MASTER as a selectable build target, since unpatched it is unlikely to boot on any device. It can easily be specified via the 'revision' option if desired. That leads to the fact that the order, in which the CPUs are woken up, can vary from boot to boot. The creation of the MADT table just parses the devicetree and takes the CPUs reported there as it is for creating the single local APIC entries. Therefore, the OS will see different order of CPUs. There are CPUs out there (like Apollo Lake for example) which have shared caches on core-level and if the order is random this can end up in assigning cores to different tasks or even OSes (in a virtual environment) which uses the same cache. This in turn will produce performance penalties across these distributed tasks/OSes. Though there is a way to discover the core- and cache-topology it will in the end be necessary to take the APIC-ID into account. To simplify it, one can achieve the same output by sorting the APIC-IDs in an ascending order. This will lead to the fact that CPUs that share a given cache will be reported right next to each other in the MADT. As ACPI disabling was done as part of PMC init, it was being called earlier than what other SoCs do. This resulted in a different order of events for some drivers e.g. ChromeOS EC. In case of ChromeOS EC, it ended up clearing EC events (which happens as part of ACPI disabling in SMM) before logging any events of interest that happen during mainboard initialization. This change moves the call to disable ACPI to pmc_soc_init just like other SoCs to keep the order of events more aligned. FSP provides an UPD "SdCardPowerEnableActiveHigh" to control the same. However, for platforms using SD_VDD1_PWR_EN# as active high, the SDXC card connector is always powered and may impact system power. This is because SD_VDD1_PWR_EN# does not de-assert during SDXC D3 or when SD card is not inserted. Workaround is to change the pad ownership of SD_VDD1_PWR_EN to GPIO and force the TX buffer to low in _PS3. And restore the pad mode to native function in _PS0. Hence add a Kconfig option to update the UPD, which the board can select based on how the SD_VDD1_PWR_EN is implemented on it. And, the workaround gets applied based on this config. It replaces the specific 'audit' flag that is used to tell security_capable whether it should log an audit message for the given capability check. The reason for generalizing this flag passing is so we can add an additional flag that signifies whether security_capable is being called by a setid syscall (which is needed by the proposed SafeSetID LSM). Reason for BACKPORT label: aa_capable() function in security/apparmor/capability.c had slightly different logical operator in 4.14. vs latest upstream code. There is no logical difference between the two. Also, change code in security/chromiumos/lsm.c to take advantage of opts arg in security_capable. This allows to refrain from checking the current syscall number when seeing if security_capable is being called from a setid syscall in the chromiumos LSM. The spreading code relies on accurately measuring the effective interval between batches of samples. An ODR change means that the previous batches may no longer represent the behavior of the EC. If an ODR change is immediately followed by a batch, the AP will attempt to spread based on the previous interval, which can easily lead to "spreading into the future", leading to subsequent timestamp mismatch errors. This patch solves that problem by having ODR events be breaking points for the spreading code. The tradeoff is that this can cause samples to be lost immediately after an ODR change. This problem can't effectively be solved without either: - storing those samples in a side queue and spreading them once updated information becomes available to do so; - communicating the ODR to the AP as part of the ODR event. Currently the only user of kvm_io_bus for ARM is the VGIC, which did this copying itself, so this was not causing issues so far. Previously, we have `restorecon -R -D /var` to fixing SELinux file labels under /var upon boot. But `-D` options makes it only tries to fix when the policy has changed, for example, policy upgrades along with OTA. Recreated /var/lib won't be "fixed" upon any reboot unless the policy has changed. The major reason for not to attempt relabelling everytime is recursive relabelling takes time, and this will slow down Chrome OS boot process. Also, relabelling shouldn't be necessary unless the policy has changed if everything is functioning well. moblab-generic-vm-paladin provision_AutoUpdate has encourterd the situation that after AutoUpdate, files under /var/lib including /var/lib itself is not correctly labeled, because there's no policy upgrade. restorecon simply skips everything to not to slow down boot process with a recursive relabelling, which does nothing most of the time. crrev.com/c/1450654 provides an emergency workaround "fix" like `restorecon -R -D /var/*` which expands to `retorecon -R -D /var/lib /var/cache /var/log ...`, since the last policy is stored at the xattr of the specified directory inode, recreated /var/lib will be treated as relabeling needed since no last policy hash is stored at /var/lib, but only at /var. type_transistion will be the long term fix to let kernel correctly recreate the directory with correct label, and leaving `restorecon -R -D /var` for policy upgrades, or first policy introduction purpose only. We also fix the generation of this file. chromite was using the file as it existed in the sysroot (pre-build_image), so the problems in this file weren't noticed. Several device buses (e.g. SPI, I2C) have support for retrieving an IRQ specified via this type of resource, and providing it directly to the driver as an IRQ number. This is not currently done for the platform drivers, as platform_get_irq() does not try to parse GpioInt() resources. This requires drivers to either have to support only one possible IRQ resource, or to have code in place to try both as a failsafe. While there is a possibility of ambiguity for devices that exposes multiple IRQs, it is easy and feasible to support the common case of devices that only expose one IRQ which would be of either type depending on the underlying system's architecture. This commit adds support for parsing a GpioInt resource in order to fulfill a request for the index 0 IRQ for a platform device. from: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10824703/ BUG=b:123750725 TEST=boot Kasumi360, observe GPIO work Change-Id: Ibbc9d78546c8189b08d30fd501747ee19bb180f0 Signed-off-by: Enrico Granata <egranata@chromium.org> Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/1483850 Tested-by: Benjamin Gordon <bmgordon@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Raul E Rangel <rrangel@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Benjamin Gordon <bmgordon@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Brian Norris <briannorris@chromium.org> " fail_count="1" gerrit_number="1483850" owner_email="egranata@chromium.org" pass_count="0" patch_number="1" project="chromiumos/third_party/kernel" project_url="https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/chromiumos/third_party/kernel" ref="refs/changes/50/1483850/1" remote="cros" total_fail_count="1"/><pending_commit branch="master" change_id="I0daa6a8d8e0a21f80012ba69a0a0ce9fd4e2d61a" commit="21142d03d36d137f99fe8dd43a3f792a29314f38" commit_message="build_image: drop vi symlink on dev images We've been installing vim into base images for years, so this vi->vim symlink isn't used. The PGMAJFAULT counter is no longer directly maintained, for performance. Instead the three new counters are added whenever the total count is needed. This adds entries to /proc/vmstat. I considered adding them at the end for better compatibility, but the contents of /proc/vmstat are already highly variable depending on config options. This will take place on each boot, but it should have minimal overhead if the block device size has not changed (less than 10 ms) and should not take a significant amount of time even when actually resizing, since this will always be expanding into new free space, which doesn't require any shuffling of existing data (growing a 1 GB FS to 2 GB takes less than 100 ms on my test system). Note that this will only work for expanding the disk image; it is not safe to shrink the disk image unless the filesystem is shrunk first, which will never happen in this code path due to the use of 'max' as the size specifier. The approach taken here is enough to allow the virtual block device image to be resized to let the VM consume newly-available free space that wasn't available at VM creation time. Shrinking the VM disk image would need to issue a BTRFS resize operation with an absolute size specified, followed by shrinking the disk image file to that size. However, since we use a sparse backing file for the stateful disk image, free space should already be reclaimed from the VM even if the logical disk size is larger than the available space. Tested by manually expanding the stateful disk image with truncate(1) and restarting the VM, observing the change in filesystem size. This may be solved by adding section name to 'preserved' list in firmware updater (for instance, CL:1239797), or include that section as sub area of {RO,RW}_PRESERVE. However, there are problems in both solution. For example, installing an older image will run old updater, which will not preserve the new names. Also, if there are multiple sections must be preserved (and not contiguous - see CL:1493629) there will be problems. Additionally, changing FMAP layout usually causes more problems. As a result, adding the description in FMAP area would be the better idea. The new FMAP_AREA_PRESERVE is a suggestion for updater to preserve this section if possible. Programs constructing FMAP must define its own way to add such attribute.
